- Bill Plummer was cut by the Cincinnati Reds in late March. Bill was able to sign with the Seattle Mariners in early April. Plummer spent a month in AAA San Jose and then played for the Mariners for the rest of the season. Bill played in San Jose in 1979 and retired after the season.
- Plummer started managing in the minors in 1980 and has had a long career. His most recent managing job was in Class A Visalia in 2013.
