- Carlos Lopez played for the Baltimore Orioles in 1978. After the 1977 season Lopez was traded (with Tommy Moore) for pitcher Mike Parrott.
- Lopez played in 129 games in 1978, but he started only 48 games. Carlos was often used as a pinch hitter and as a pinch runner.
- This was Lopez' last season in the major leagues. He spent the 1979 season in AAA Rochester and then played in the Mexican League from 1980-1985.
